Q. Can you tell us about the founding story of The Beauty Muse and what inspired its establishment?
The Beauty Muse was inspired by a long-awaited dream I had since high school. Growing my own confidence was a journey in itself. Early on, I started having fun experimenting with new make-up looks and transforming my hair, which eventually led me to explore the wonderful world of skincare. Over the years, this evolved into a passion for helping others achieve their skin goals—not just aesthetically, but by seeing their inner glow and confidence shine. Witnessing these transformations in my clients is honestly the most rewarding part of my career.
At The Beauty Muse, my focus is on creating a unique experience for each person’s mind, soul, and skin rejuvenation. Whether it’s through serene relaxation in bespoke facials, celebrating skin wins together, building connection, or sharing laughter—my aim is for you to leave uplifted and inspired, with healthy, glowing skin.
Q. How do you approach client consultations to ensure personalised skincare solutions? What advice would you give to someone looking to establish a consistent skincare routine?
I wholeheartedly believe that the consultation process is an integral part of a skin journey. For me, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment is essential to help clients feel comfortable discussing their skin, lifestyle, journey so far, and goals openly and honestly. This time allows us to set the foundations for working together as a team and achieving incredible skin wins. I’m passionate about providing advice and education so each person feels empowered and motivated, while also bringing in belly laughs and high vibes along the way.
If you’re looking to establish a skincare routine, my advice is to firstly find a dedicated Skin Therapist who aligns with you and can help you understand your skin and its needs. Self-prescribing can be difficult (and expensive!). With skin, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, so establishing a routine tailored specifically for you is crucial. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming either—when you start seeing the changes from repairing your skin barrier alone, you’ll be surprised at how much you grow to love your routine!
Q. What attracted you to pursue a career in the skincare industry?
I have always been drawn to the beauty industry, but it wasn’t until I started studying the Diploma and coincidentally began experiencing significant changes in my own skin that my passion truly ignited. Trying to navigate my own journey, feeling disheartened and misinformed, I encountered the same challenges many of my clients face today. That experience made me determined to provide a completely different experience for others.
Q. Tell us about a career highlight for you.
Moving into my current space has been a big achievement—it’s beautiful and perfectly aligned with my values. Starting as a home-based business, the idea of working within a commercial space was daunting, especially while growing and raising my two babies and navigating the pandemic at the same time. In saying that, I’m incredibly grateful for those challenges, as they helped me build resilience and strength, bringing me to where I am today.
Q. If you had to pick a “dermaviduals Hero Product,” which one would it be and why?
If I had to choose just one, it would be EGCG. It sets the foundation for barrier repair and hydration and is an absolute game-changer for my clients. A couple of years ago, I left my EGCG on the edge of the basin and didn’t close it properly (rookie mistake). My son decided to give it a try, and it ended up all over his face! In any case, I think he loved it.
