Could you please tell us about Tuesday Skin Studio and how you began your business?
Tuesday Skin Studio is the baby of a bachelor of nursing and a deep love for the expression of self-love and confidence. Holding space for, educating, enabling and empowering clients to feel confident and at home in their own skin. Located in the Far North of NZ (based in Mangonui + a weekly clinic in Kerikeri) my goal was to raise the bar, offering nothing but the best calibre of products and services. As a young girl, I aspired to be a beauty therapist instead I went to nursing where I was then lucky enough to become a cosmetic injector starting Tuesday Skin and quickly evolving into a passionate Corneotherapist thanks to Dermaviduals. It wasn’t a pathway I intended on taking with my degree, more of a natural progression and a full circle.
What sets Tuesday Skin Studio and its treatments apart?
I think it’s a combination of what I bring to the table as a registered nurse – the in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and my scope of practice which has set me apart. That and my promise, “the best you’ve ever had” *full disclosure that I am by no means claiming to be the most experienced or knowledgeable injector and/or Corneotherapist but, what I am is absolutely committed to being the best I can be with each and every day, continuously learning, an insatiable appetite for education and the fact that I strive to leave my clients feeling seen with every encounter.
What is Tuesday Skin Studio’s most popular treatment?
I offer what I call the “Tuesday Trifecta” starting with injectables to preserve the integrity of the skin itself; relaxing the muscle movement giving the skin a break from constant wrinkling (think a piece of paper that is constantly being folded) and replacing volume loss where even the best skin care cannot. Then we stimulate natural collagen and elastin production with the EXCEED needling device following the dermaviduals protocol. Lastly, the cherry on top of supporting these in-clinic treatments by healing, protecting and rejuvenating is the incredible dermaviduals range and education all working in synergy.
How do you keep your staff motivated?
Me, myself and I need no motivation – When I count my blessings I count my career twice, I genuinely eat, sleep and breathe Tuesday Skin Studio. I am OBSESSED with what I do and this shows in my commitment to results and quality of care.
What are the challenges of running a salon?
The constant juggling of a family; I have two babies 6 & 4 and a gorgeous husband, Tuesday Skin Studio and life – more so because I’m a raging perfectionist who refuses to do anything in halves.
“The key to juggling is to know that some of the balls you have in the air are made of plastic and some are made of glass. And if you drop a plastic ball, it bounces, no harm done. If you drop a glass ball, it shatters, so you have to know which balls are glass and which are plastic and prioritize catching the glass ones.”

What has been your most memorable career moment so far?
Being awarded Junior Corneotherapist of the Year and Rising Star in this year’s dermaviduals awards was an absolute highlight – being recognised for all the hard work I’ve put in to Tuesday Skin Studio in such a short space of time was a massive achievement and one I am extremely proud of. But I feel as though each and every day we make history at Tuesday Skin Studio – I am reminded daily why I do what I do when I get glowing reviews and results. I get huge satisfaction from the positive impact skin health and appearance have on my clients’ self-confidence and lives.
How have dermaviduals assisted Tuesday Skin Studio?
It’s funny, I was initially against holding a skincare line at Tuesday Skin Studio as I had put it in the too-hard basket, and I would stick to injecting, skin needling and recommending products. It didn’t take me long to realise that my clients needed dermaviduals just as much as they needed the above. l, having already used dermaviduals myself for years (with incredible results) knew it was the missing link to the Tuesday Trifecta. The education and continued support I have received through dermaviduals have been outstanding. I am 100% committed to and am in awe of the organisation.
What is your number one skincare tip?
Do the work to love yourself, whatever that looks like for you. We only have one life, one vessel/body and this one life is way too short to be hard on yourself. 80% of my job is convincing clients how beautiful they already are.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own skin clinic?
Educate yourself and question everything, there is a lot of misinformation and empty promises when it comes to skin.
“When you know better you do better.”
